A Mile for Memory 2025- A Beautiful Day of Compassion, Community, and Hope

This year’s Dementia Walk – A Mile for Memory was nothing short of extraordinary. On October 4th at the Outer Banks Brewing Station, our community showed up with full hearts, generous spirits, and inspiring energy. Under clear blue skies and perfect fall weather, we walked side-by-side to honor loved ones, support caregivers, and raise awareness for those living with dementia.

From start to finish, the day carried a feeling of connection and hope. Friends, families, and supporters of all ages laced up and took part in the one-mile walk, each step filled with purpose and love. We shared stories, remembered those we miss, and stood in solidarity with those who continue the journey.

Behind the scenes, our sponsors and donors made an incredible impact. Thanks to their generosity, we were able to raise meaningful funds to support caregiver programs, dementia-friendly education, and community initiatives across the Outer Banks. Our silent auction was a huge hit as well—fun, lively, and full of amazing items that helped us surpass our fundraising goals.

We are filled with gratitude for every sponsor, donor, volunteer, participant, and cheerleader who helped make this year’s walk such a success. Together, we continue to build a more compassionate, supportive, and dementia-friendly community.

Thank you for walking with us… for remembering… and for giving hope.
We can’t wait to see you again next year as we continue this important mission-one mile, one memory, and one act of kindness at a time.
