Love to Remember Tennis and Pickleball Tournament Oct 24-26 2025

It gives us great pleasure to announce the 5th year of the “Love to
Remember” Tournament in support of the Outer Banks Dementia Friendly Coalition. This year’s tournament will be held Friday, October 24th thru Sunday, October 26th at Duck Woods Country Club and WestSide Athletic Club.
The money we raise supports Respite Care and our Caregivers’ Day Out programs that started March 21st, 2022, at the Dare County Parks and Recreation Youth Center. The program’s success has made it possible to start a second site at the Virginia S. Tillett Community Center in Manteo and begin the development of a third site on Hatteras Island at the Hatteras Island Library/Fessenden Center.

These initiatives support caregivers and provide educational programs to give
advice and support in helping their loved ones through the difficult paths of dementia. With the help of fundraisers like this and the Outer Banks Dementia Friendly Coalition, the Outer Banks has the first Dementia Friendly Hospital as well as over fifty Dementia Friendly restaurants and businesses. Please look for our proudly displayed “Purple Seahorse” designation for those organizations that are trained.

Our support groups are a vital part of our community, providing comfort,
encouragement, and care for loved ones where there is no cure. Dementia is on the rise. Most of us have been touched by the long-term support needed for a family member or close friend. We all understand the hardship memory loss brings. This is our way to give back.
